Medicine Drum Birthing Workshop

Weaving in the Sacred Wild Feminine

This workshop is an invitation for you to immerse yourself in a 2-day journey, exploring ancient ways, feminine wisdom and creating a healing tool for yourself.

Together we will deepen our connection to our own selves, nourish our creativity, empower our liberation and sovereignty to birth the medicine your Divine unique Medicine the world needs now!

Wild Soul Rooted Medicine Drum...

guides us in retrieving the Sacred Feminine and awakens us to the shamanic wisdom within the female body and Soul which is deeply connected to the Earth and Moon.

She reminds us of this deep connection as we create and beat the drum, resurrecting our sacred power!

The drum echoes the heartbeat and enables us to connect with the sacred rhythms of life showing us that women’s spirituality is rooted in her body. She reminds us that we are created in the image of Earth and Moon, our cyclical nature and the ways of the feminine. She enables us to feel the unconditional love of Mother and her nurturance.

The Drum is a symbol of the Feminine, a round container that vibrates life.

She is the first sound we hear in the womb of our mother; the heartbeat; the sound of profound Love! She is the heartbeat to our remembrance! She brings us home to knowing our own Love, that we are Loved and to Express that Love! This is the healing for our times!

when women were drummers...

The medicine drum is an ancient tool for healing and transformation. It has a cultural history as a sacred tool in women’s spirituality and religious life. In her book, When the Drummers Were Women, Layne Raymond traces the history of the drum, acknowledging the importance of this tool in women’s ceremonies, rites of passages, and spiritual experiences across the globes.

The Drum was the means our ancestors used to summon the Goddess and the instrument through which she Spoke. The drumming Priestess was the intermediary between Divine and human realms. Aligning Herself with sacred rhythms, she acted as a summoner and transformer, invoking Divine energy and transmitting it to the community.

Because drumming was recognized as an ancient source and symbol of the power of Female technicians (healers) of the Sacred, drumming was banned. Henceforth divinity was to be exclusively masculine. The suppression of women was directly linked to the suppression of the Goddess.

- Layne Redmond

It’s time for the Goddess to return, for the Feminine to rise and to reclaim Her rightful place in the world! The Earth Moon Woman and the Sacred Medicine Drum shows us the way!   Its time to Weave and Drum in the Sacred Feminine!

Our Sacred Time Together

   We will explore:

  • ·         The re-emergence of the Feminine and teaching of the Cycles

  • ·         Herstory and the History of the Drum

  • ·         The healing and balancing properties of sound and the frequency of the Drum

  • ·         Learn about how our birth story carries the imprints that inform our creative process

  • ·         Be guided in Shamanic Journey to retrieve your Power Animal

  • ·         Make a Red Prayer Braid to honor our Red Thread Medicine as Women

  • ·         Learn sacred songs to take home with you

  • ·         And most important create your own healing tool by building a medicine Drum

During the drum making (birthing) process we will work with your own birth story, bring to light the imprints we have received through our own birth journey. This process helps us to gain a deeper understanding of ourselves and the mother-line from which we come from. Creating your own medicine drum is an opportunity to create in a sacred way, weaving in your intentions and prayers into your work. The process is a birth of the self, an opportunity to bare witness to the unraveling and re- weaving of your hearts song and Soul path. The creation of the drum is a sacred act, bringing deeper
awareness to your own creative process in which we honor the animal whole hide we are working with, the tree, the journey, and the gift of life itself.

Note all hides are ethically and morally obtained. In shamanism, the hide used in drum crafting honors the sacredness of the animal and allows for the spirit of the animal to carry on offering its medicine.
